I would release a song on Soundcloud to my modest 1,000 followers and still only be seeing around 100 plays, at most. My Spotify followers were not growing, and my Instagram was gaining as many followers as I was losing on a monthly basis.

I would sign a song to a label, and be so excited for release day, only to be disappointed that I couldn't share it with as many people as I'd hoped to.

My music was progressing, but my follower counts were barely moving, even after spending a ton of time and effort into making music that I knew was good. I couldn't even reach the people who WERE following me.

I decided I needed to make a change. I took a lot of time to learn how to utilize social media to share grow my following. Not just the numbers, but to grow a true fan base and true following that is so much more than just numbers on a page.

I grew to over almost 10,000 followers on both my Soundcloud accounts with all entirely real followers. Real engagement, real plays, real people playing and buying my music.

I grew my Instagram from 700 followers to 2,000 in a few months.

I blew up my Spotify monthly listeners from 300-400 per month into thousands (one month hitting 4,500).

I went from having a few thousand plays overall, to having some of my songs hit all the way up past 30,000 plays (and still rising a year later).
